Blogs Brian’s Winter

10 Meeting the Family
The man was Indian and knew the hole time the he was a crossed the river but want to bother him. Brian walk with the man with his snowshoes to the log cabin. When they open the log cabin door Brian saw the family at the dinner table waiting for the other two. The man had a wife and two kids. Brian eats with the family telling stories about him surviving the wild. Then he got to sleep in the log cabin and waits for the next day. The supply plane was going to in the after noon and so they got his stuff ready to take home. When the plane came he help get the supply for the family and then left on the plane for home.

9 Crossing the Lake
He goes a crossed the lake and with luck makes to the other side. He finds it no different at his camp compared to there. He also find lines planted the snow which he knew that they were not animal tracks. Brian goes in more then saw a man, a log cabin and food storage.

8 Gun Shots of the Unknown

In the morning he heard some guns shots but he thought it was a branch that almost fell on him. So he eats his rabbit wondering if there was a person on the other side of the of the lake. He ignores stays in his camp and waits for the next day. A few days later he hears the same thing again and goes a crossed.

Brian’s Winter

7 Snowshoes
Brian one day went on a hunt for rabbit in a foot of snow. He tries to chase a rabbit but the rabbit is running on to of the snow while he sinks. Then he thought of snowshoes so that he doesn’t fall through a foot of snow. He goes to camp finishing his shirt made out of moose. Then the next day he finished the snowshoes at midday by using moose hide and poplar trees. He tries out the snowshoes and killed a deer while hunting and testing his snowshoes.

6 The Prey That Fights Back
Brian one day went hunting and saw a rabbit hopping by. He takes a shot and missed the rabbit. Then Brian saw a even bigger target a moose. He gets up close in range aiming at the chest of the moose. Then Brian takes the shoot and hit the chest. The moose charge at Brian and Brian was able to dodge the moose. The moose was not dead or done with Brian so it turns around and charges Brian again. To late to make a shot with his bow he went to grab his lance instead and stab the moose in the chest to stop the charge. But Brian blacks out by hitting the animal fore head with his head from the charge. When he wakes up he find the moose dead in front of him.

5 An Unexpected Guest
Brian who thought he was going to get sprayed if he didn’t feed the skunk he give it a small piece of deer meat. The next day he sees the skunk again and so he feed the skunk. But this time he followed the skunk and found that the skunk move right next to the shelter. Brian puzzled goes to bed peacefully. When he wakes back up and he finds that the bear is on top of him eating his food. Brian hopeless stays with out movement so the bear would leave and then the bear looked at him. Brian thought he was going to die but then the skunk sprayed into the bears face stinging the bear’s eyes. The bear runs with terror and blindness. Brian gives the skunk a huge piece of deer meat for saving his life. The next day winter has come.

4 Sewing Rabbit Hides
While it got slowly colder and the geese and ducks have fled to the south. Brian thinks of using the rabbit hides that he got from the hunting and made rectangular shape by sewing the hides together. He soon makes a vest and gets a “free” deer meat because he found wolves kill a deer and wait till they left and then he to the deer apart and brought the deer back to camp. When Brian finished with the deer and stored it he didn’t for two weeks and so he made a vest tat kept him very warm. He also made nine arrows over the two weeks then a skunk came asking him for food.
